Remarks. This is the first record of the genus Pseudodoros Becker, 1903 from Iran. P. nigricollis species can be identified by the following combination of characters: eye bare; median facial black vitta narrower than flagellum; metasternum bare; postmetacoxal bridge incomplete; fore and mid tibiae predominantly yellow, with a median short black ring; abdominal tergites 2–4 with a pair of yellowish lateral maculae.

This genus, which has three species of two subgenera ( Dioprosopa and Pseudodoros ), is restricted to the Nearctic and Afrotropical regions as well as the Eastern Mediterranean countries. Pseudodoros (Pseudodoros) nigricollis , which was recently recorded from Cyprus, occurs only in the Afrotropical and Palaearctic regions ( Peck 1988; Kassebeer 2000; Van Eck & Makris 2016).
