Replaced synonym of: Fevillea scandens L. (1763)  , nom. illeg.

Lectotype (Jeffrey in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 47. 1993): [icon] “Nhandiroba” in Plumier, Nov. Pl. Amer.: 20, t. 27. 1703.

Current name: Fevillea cordifolia L.  ( Cucurbitaceae  ).

Note: Fevillea cordifolia  was treated as the generitype by Britton & Wilson (Sci. Surv. Porto Rico 6: 270. 1925) (see McNeill & al. in Taxon 36: 371. 1987). However, under Art. 10.5, Ex. 7 (a voted example) of the Vienna Code, this is a type choice made under the American Code and is to be replaced under Art. 10.5b by Green’s choice (Prop. Brit. Bot.:190. 1929) of F. trilobata L.
