Holotype: male from Acampamento Mutum, Juruti, Pará, Brazil (2.551917°S 56.224722°W), 11.VIII.2010, N. Abrahim ( MPEG 21023). Paratypes: one female from Platô do Rio Juruti, Juruti, Pará, Brazil (2.466833°S 56.211722°W), 07.IX.2002, A.B. Bonaldo & D.D. Guimarães ( MPEG 21151); one female from Beneficiamento, Juruti, Pará, Brazil (2.507611°S 56.177639°W), 12.VII.2010, N.C. Bastos ( MPEG 21035).
Etymology. The epithet is a Latin adjective and refers to the form of the embolus in the male palp, slender than in other species of the acutidens group.
Diagnosis. This species is similar to M. similis sp. nov. and M. balbina sp. nov. by having an acute median projection only on the prolateral side of the embolus. From M. similis sp. nov., it differs by the embolus tip, which is more straight and slender, and from M. balbina sp. nov., this species differs by having a shorter embolus, with the thinner tip being shorter than the embolus base ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 30 – 36 ). Females of this species are very similar to those of M. balbina sp. nov., with smaller copulation openings ( Figs 32–33, 35–36 View FIGURES 30 – 36 ), but it is difficult to tell them apart. So far, the two species have not been found living at the same locality.
