Type locality.
“ Yunnan Province, Chuxiong City, Zixi Mountain; 2397 m ”
New material examined.
China • 1 male, 2 females & 1 ootheca; Sichuan Province, Panzhihua City, Dahei Mountain, Xiaoshilin Pass ; 22 Jul. 2022; Wei Han, Lin Guo leg.
Ootheca.
Light reddish brown. Longitudinal lines densely arranged. Serrated protuberances sparsely arranged, tips subtriangular and slightly tilted. No respiratory ducts (Fig. 13 H, Q View Figure 13 ).
Remarks.
The male specimen from Zixi Mountain has pale yellowish-brown tegmina, a dark brown abdomen, and legs with yellow markings ( Qiu et al. 2018: fig. 10 E, F). While male samples from Dahei Mountain display pale grayish-brown tegmina, a blackish brown abdomen and legs, and yellow markings on the abdomen (Fig. 13 K, L View Figure 13 ). The density of markings on tegmina is nearly identical in both location samples. Genetic distances range from 0 % to 0.8 % between the samples from Zixi Mountain, and from 6.6 % to 7.1 % between the samples from Zixi Mountain and Dahei Mountain. Since the genetic distances between the samples from Zixi Mountain and Dahei Mountain did not significantly differ, and the distribution of tegmina markings as well as the degree of density were almost identical, the differences in coloration and markings between the samples from Dahei Mountain and those from the type locality, Zixi Mountain, are temporarily considered to be intraspecific variation.
