Gynodiastylidae Stebbing, 1912 View in CoL
Remarks. The only diastylid genus that is likely to be confused for a gynodiastylid is Colurostylis . However, the 2 pairs of pleopods and the long antenna in the male are distinctive, in comparison with the lack of pleopods and the very short antenna in gynodiastylid males. Also, the only New Zealand gynodiastylid with a simple pereopod 1, lacking the brush of long setae on the propodus, is Litogynodiastylis laevis , which has the telson longer than the uropod peduncles, and the telson of Colurostylis is much shorter than the uropod peduncles.
