Family Monognathidae View in CoL View at ENA
The species Monognathus jesperseni Bertin, 1936 is regarded as being occurring off Portugal. One specimen was caught outside the Portuguese EEZ and also outside the proposed extension of the Portuguese continental shelf (17.0016º W, 41.8630º N, Discovery Stn. 9801 # 82(9)). For these reasons, M. jesperseni was not included in the total number of species in the current list.
The specimen is deposited in the Natural History Museum, BMNH 1987.2.3.2.
