Type locality. Barnaul (Tomsk Gouv.) [ Russia].

Type repository. Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Science. Saint Petersburg, Russia (lectotype examined).

Redescription. Length 5.0–6.0 mm; oblong elongate, convex, shiny, glabrous. Head and pronotum black; elytra subapically piceous; legs and antennal club reddish brown. Head with epistome strongly convex and coarsely, sparsely, irregularly punctate on disc; anteriorly with distinctly raised transversely arcuate carina and slightly depressed medially toward clypeal margin, therein distinctly granulose, laterally confusedly rugose; clypeus widely moderately sinuate at middle, sharply denticulate on sides; denticles distinctly upturned, rather thinly bordered, edge upturned, glabrous; genae round, sparsely setose, faintly protruding from the eyes; frontal suture finely impressed; front irregularly not closely coarsely punctate. Pronotum transverse, moderately convex, dually punctate; large punctures seven to eight times larger than small punctures, punctures irregular, sparse on disc, somewhat denser on sides; small punctures sparsely, evenly scattered throughout, more superficial on disc; lateral margin feebly arcuate, thickly bordered, edge sparsely setose; hind angles distinctly truncate; base feebly bisinuate, distinctly entirely bordered. Scutellum ogival; sparsely, irregularly punctate on basal half. Elytra oblong, convex, feebly widened posteriorly, deeply striate; striae rather coarsely punctate, crenulate; interstriae almost flat and finely, sparsely punctate. Metatibiae superior spur longer than first metatarsomere; latter as long as following 3 metatarsomeres combined. Male: pronotum more transverse, less densely and less coarsely punctate; frontal suture with median tubercle somewhat distinctly raised; protibiae spur hooked apically; aedeagus Figs. 59–60 View FIGURES 44 – 62 . Female: head and pronotum narrower apically, more densely and more coarsely punctate; frontal suture without vestiges of tubercles; protibiae spur almost straight.

Distribution. Kazakhstan (Ust Kamenogorsk), Russia (Barnaul, Tomsk Gouv.).

Material examined. RUSSIA: West Siberia: Barnaul, Z. V. Goretovsky, 25.IV.1909 (1 specimen, lectotype male, ZIN).

Bionomics. The specimens of the type series were collected in April and May.

Remarks. The sole male of the type series has the aedeagus damaged, i.e., it lacks parameres. Thus the figure by Kabakov (1998) is redrawn here. Moreover, to avoid dissecting the only known male lectotype, the figure of the epipharynx is based on a microscope photograph of a female paralectotype taken and sent to us by Andrey Frolov.
