This species was found on the gills of Pagellus erythrinus .
It is cosmopolitan ( Margolis et al. 1975). It was reported from several localities in the Mediterranean, on many host species (summarized by Raibaut et al., 1998): on Trigla lineata ( Chelidonichthys lastoviza ) and T. lucerna ( C. lucernus ) ( Delamare-Deboutteville & Nunes-Ruivo 1958), Pagellus acarne , P. bogaraveo , P. erythrinus , Lithognathus mormyrus ( Brian 1898, 1903, 1935; Monod 1923), T. lucerna ( Benmansour & Ben Hassine 1997) and on Aspitrigla cuculus , Eutrigla gurnadus , Lepidotrigla cavillone , Lithognathus mormyrus , P. acarne , P. bogaraveo , P. erythrinus , Platichthys flesus , T. lucerna , T. lyra and Trigloporus lastoviza ( C. lastoviza ) ( Raibaut et al. 1998). In the Adriatic ( Montenegro), it was collected on T. lucerna ( Radujkovic & Raibaut 1989) .
