Description

Shell white, thin and transclucent, length, 20 mm. Attached to the substratum by a calcified byssal plug passing through the large foramen on the flat right valve. Left valve convex with three muscle attachment scars in the central area.

Type locality

‘‘China’’.

Distribution

South and East China Seas, Hainan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Fujian, Zhenjiang, Yellow Sea, Shandong to Hokkaido, Japan. ( Bernard et al. 1993; Xu 1997; Coan et al. 2000). Intertidal zone to 20 m. Attached to hard substrata.
