Anthrax johanni Zaitzev, 1997: 900 . Type locality: Egypt (Assiout and Qena) . New replacement name for Anthrax muscaria Klug, 1832 .

Diagnosis

Very similar to Anthrax dentatus ( Becker, 1906) ; however, plumula white and wing pattern tends to be paler brown with clear areas in cell r1 and base of cell br. Apical processes of gonocoxites shorter and broader than that of A. dentuta and with larger more conspicuous spinules, gonostyli narrower and with a longer apical process than other species ( Figure 8 (a–c)). Spermatheca ( Figure 8 (d)) with the bulb narrower than that of A. dentuta , often almost cylindrical.

1 female, W. El-Arbaein (28.5469°N, 33.9530°E), 21 May 1997 (M. El-Hawagry, leg.); 1 female, W. Zaeitar (28.5206°N, 33.9383°E), 24 August 1996 (M. El-Hawagry, leg.) [ MSHC] .
