Head: Off-white, neck light brown; segment 2 of labial palpus grey to off-white rarely mottled with brown at base and before apex, inner surface grey, segment 3 about as long and weakly narrower than segment 2, brown with white apex, acute; scape brown, others segment brown with narrow whitish belt in base. Thorax: Dorsum and tegulae light brown; forewing grey, veins in cell and sub-apical area with reddish-brown irroration, costal margin mottled with black, black spot at base of costal margin, another black spot at base at mid-width, three black dots in cell: two in middle and one in corner, elongate black spot at 2/3 of costal margin, diffuse whitish spot at ¾ of costa; cilia grey, brown-tipped; hindwing grey. Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 23 – 25 ) with uncus weakly elongated, rounded, covered with short strong setae; gnathos long, weakly curved, slightly broadened before middle and before apex, tip curved, pointed; valva moderately broad, exceeding the top of uncus setae, with triangular tooth at 2/3 of ventral margin, distal 1/3 curved outwards, haired; sacculus broad at base, separated from valva by wide gap, distal portion narrow, reaching 2/3 length of valva; vincular lobes terminated posteriorly in broad inwardly curved processes of even width, anteromedial incision deep and broad; saccus short, broadly rounded; phallus swollen at base, distal portion narrow, apex weakly broadened, with short lateral tooth and long, narrow arm. Female genitalia unknown.

Remarks. A. akagericus externally resembles A. hackeri and A. crudescens , but differs from the A. hackeri in the presence of the reddish-brown irroration along the veins and from A. crudescens in the light brown rather than yellow head. The male genitalia are easily distinguished by the very broad projection of the posterior margin of the vinculum, a wide gap between valva and sacculus, the shape of the valva and others details.

Biology. The type series was collected in September at 1500 m elevation.

Distribution. Rwanda.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality-Akagera National Park.
