A. kuehnei View in CoL , sp. n.

( Figs. 12 View FIGURES 11 – 16 , 22 View FIGURES 20 – 22 , 30 View FIGURES 29 – 30 )

Material examined. Holotype ♂, Rwanda, Butare, Guesthouse University, 11.9.2007, LF, 2.35S, 29.44E (Kühne) (MFN). Paratypes: 1♂, 1♀, same data as holotype (gen. slide 182/ 12♂; 183/12♀, O. Bidzilya) (MFN).

Description. Adult ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11 – 16 ). Wingspan 16.0–17.1 mm. Head: Grey brown, frons slightly lighter, base of tegulae with black scales; segment 2 of labial palpus grey, grey evenly mottled with brown at base and before apex, slightly broader than segment 3, segment 3 about as long as segment 2, acute light brown; scape brown with black medial belt, other antennal segments brown with grey basal rings. Thorax: Dorsum and tegulae grey brown, base of tegulae with black scales; forewing light brown, base mottled with black, black-tipped scales form broad pattern along costal margin from ¼ to ¾, two indistinct black dots at base of cell and one in corner of the cell, diffuse grey spots before apex on both margins, cilia grey black-tipped; hindwing dark grey. Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 20 – 22 ) with uncus elongated, deeply divided by narrow incision into to lobes covered with strong setae; gnathos weakly curved at base and before apex, nearly uniform in width, apex with pointed tip; valva digitate, nearly straight, far extending over top of uncus setae, covered with long hairs in distal 2/3, apex rounded; sacculus broad at base, distal projection narrow, digitate, apex rounded, with inwardly curved tip, reaching to 2/3 length of valva; vincular lobes without posterior projections, anteromedial incision deep and broad; saccus short, broadly rounded; phallus strongly swollen at base, distal portion short, narrow, apex with narrow curved arm and beak-shaped tooth. Female genitalia ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 29 – 30 ) with segment VIII sub-rectangular, weakly narrowed apically, evenly sclerotized, densely covered with fine microtrichia, with narrow, digitate medial sclerite, two narrow folds extending distally from the base of apophyses anteriores, posterior margin straight, anterior margin deeply emarginated; apophyses posteriores very long and narrow, apophyses anteriores broad at base, strongly constricted laterally, distal half narrow, straight, shorter than segment VIII; antrum broad, rounded, with sclerotized plate inside, ductus bursae comparatively short, gradually broadened towards big, globular corpus bursae; signum at bottom of corpus bursae, prolonged serrated plate with strongly serrated posterior margin and with narrow ridge inside.

Biology. Adults have been collected in September.

Distribution. Rwanda.

Remarks. A. kuehnei can be recognized externally by the comparatively broad black pattern along the costal margin. The male genitalia are characterized by the reduced projections of the posterior margin of the vinculum, the nearly straight valva, the phallus strongly swollen at base, and other details. The female genitalia resemble those of A. exoenota , but the anterior margin of sternite VIII is without sclerotized patches, the ductus bursae is shorter, the apophyses anteriores are strongly constricted laterally, and the signum has a strongly serrated posterior margin.

Etymology. The new species is named in the honor of Lars Kühne (Potsdam, Germany), collector of the type series.
