Carex indica Linnaeus View in CoL , Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 574. 1771.
"Habitat in India orientalis." RCN: 7072.
Lectotype (Nguyen Khac Khoi in Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 16: 68. 1979): Herb. Linn. No. 1100.39 ( LINN) .
Current name: Carex indica L. View in CoL ( Cyperaceae ).
Note: Although Nelmes (in Reinwardtia 1: 273. 1951) referred to a Linnaean specimen and described its androgynaceous spike, he did not refer to it as the type. Simpson (in Taxon 53: 178. 2004) independently reached the same conclusion as Nguyen Khac Khoi.
