Cuculisyringophilus crotophaginus Skoracki, 2008 View in CoL

This species is known from two cuculiform bird species of the family Cuculidae , Guira guira (Gmelin) from Paraguay and Crotophaga sulcirostris from Colombia and Mexico (Jalisco) ( Skoracki 2008). This study provides the record of this mite species collected from C. sulcirostris in the new locality of Mexico (Veracruz).

Material examined. Eight females from Crotophaga sulcirostris , MEXICO: Veracruz, Los Tuxtlas, 15 May 2008, coll. S.V. Mironov (SVM 08-0515-1/2); mite specimens deposited in UNAM, UMMZ, and AMU.
