Remarks. This species was based on a single male from Suranganar Reserve, Tamil Nadu (collected in 1949). Additional records of D. chhotanii were made by Yadav (1993b) from Maharashtra, and from Kerala by Sureshan et al. (2006). We have not seen any specimens that conform to the original description of D. chhotanii with respect to a posterior bifurcation on the anterior median furrow on the cephalic plate, 2.5 glabrous antennal articles, or pilose tarsi on the ultimate leg. Its identity as Digitipes is supported by a femoral process on the ultimate leg in the male (Jangi and Dass 1984: fig. 85).
