Material examined. CHINA: Zhejiang Province: Mt. Tianmu (30º26' N, 119º34' E), 3ɗ, 2&, 1140 m, 17.viii.1999; 1ɗ, 1&, 1500 m, 18.viii.1999 (Houhun Li); Guizhou Province: Mt. Fanjing (27º55' N, 108º41' E), 4ɗ, 1&, 1700 m, 29.vii.2001 (Houhun Li & Xinpu Wang); Gansu Province: Mt. Xiaolong (34º21' N, 106º01' E), 1ɗ, 10.viii.1988 (Xingyu Wu).

Description. Adult (Fig. 2): Wingspan 13.5-15.0 mm in male, 15.5-16.5 mm in female. Labial palpus narrow, upturned, yellowish brown, length 0.66 times diameter of compound eye; frons, antenna, and vertex yellowish brown; tegula developed, yellowish brown, with scattered dark brown scales; thorax dark brown. Costal margin of forewing slightly convex in basal 1/3, then straight; apex somewhat pointed; termen obliquely straight; tornus broad. Ground color of forewing yellowish brown; costal margin with dark brown scales at base, dorsum with large brown spot near base; pattern elements dark brown: basal blotch indistinct; medial fascia broken, distinct only at base and distal; subapical blotch large; cilia same color as forewing. Hindwing and cilia pale gray, apex pale, with a large cluster of broad scales between anal and cubital veins. Legs whitish yellow, with some brown scales. Abdomen dark gray dorsally, gray ventrally.

Male genitalia (Fig. 4): Tegumen broad, lateral sclerite narrow. Uncus narrow at base, then distinctly expanded, slightly narrowed at apex, rounded apically; socius large; gnathos simple, short and well developed. Transtilla broad. Valva broad, quadrate; costa long and well developed; sacculus strongly sclerotized, narrow, short. Aedeagus short, narrowed distally; coecum penis lacking, caulis small; cornutus absent.

Female genitalia (Fig. 5): Papillae anales broad. Apophyses anteriores shorter than posteriores, the latter with a broad basal plate. Lamella antevaginalis short, lamella postevaginalis broad. Ductus bursae long. Signum absent.
