Specimens examined. Total 3 ɗ, 2 Ψ.— Guyana, Upper Demerara-Berbice region: Holotype ɗ, Allotype Ψ, Potaro Landing (05°59'N, 58°33'W), 0 2 x 1912, leg. J.A. & E.B. Williamson & B.J. Rainey (UMMZ). Potaro- Siparuni region: 1 paratype Ψ [represented only by wings mounted on a slide], Tumatumari (05°17'N, 58°59'W, 20 m), 0 8 ii 1912, leg. J.A. & E.B. Williamson & B.J. Rainey (UMMZ). Brazil, Amazonas State: 2 ɗ, Manaus (03°06'48''S, 60°01'31''W, 34 m), 0 6 viii 1964, leg. A.B.M. Machado (RWG).

Characterization. Posterior lobe of pronotum smoothly convex ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 3 – 10 ). Hw ( Figs. 12 View FIGURE 12 b–c) 5.1–5.2 times as long as wide; 10–11 Px in Fw, 8 Px in Hw; RP 2 beginning closer to Px 5 in Fw and closer to Px 3 in Hw. Genital ligula with apex entire ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 21 – 26 a) and paired inner processes distal to flexure ( Figs. 26 View FIGURES 21 – 26 b–c). Male cercus about as long as male S 10 in lateral view, widest posteriorly to sub-basal tooth ( Figs. 35 View FIGURES 34 – 35 a, c), which is low and not visible in medio-dorsal view ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 34 – 35 b). Female cerci conical, shorter than S10; outer valves of ovipositor with a single row of teeth along distal three fifths; sub-basal plate of ovipositor meeting its counterpart ventrally, with dorsal and ventral sides concave; tip of ovipositor (excluding stylus) extending beyond postero-dorsal margin of S10 but not surpassing tip of cerci ( Fig. 36 View FIGURE 36 k).

Dimensions. Males (n = 3): total length 27.0–30.0 mm [mean 28.5 mm; SD 2.1]; abdomen 23.0– 25.5 mm [mean 24.2 mm; SD 1.8]; Hw 12.6–14.0 mm [mean 13.3 mm; SD 0.7]. Female (n = 1): total length 26 mm; abdomen 21.8 mm; Hw 15 mm.

Diagnosis. See under E. machadoi .

Biology. Adults were collected at rivers.

Distribution. Amazonas State in Brazil, Guyana, and French Guiana ( Fig. 38 View FIGURE 38 ).
