Hishimonus dividens Knight 1970a: 133 View in CoL , figs 42–43.

Head, pronotum, mesoscutum and scutellum creamy yellow with pale brown mottling. Forewings mottled with pale brown between veins, median spot brown without dark brown border. Legs either ochraceous or with dark brown spot at bases of setae.

Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view longer than its height, posterior margin conically rounded, macrosetae confined to posterior half. Valve 2.5 times as wide at base as long. Subgenital plate with terminal fingerlike process 0.25 as long as the total length of plate. Style abruptly narrowed in middle, about thrice as long as wide at base, preapical lobe poorly developed; apophysis straight, directed posteriorly. Connective with arms very close to each other and about as long as stem. Aedeagus without basal processes, each shaft bifurcate apically, the longer one (mesal branch) curved anteriorly and the shorter one (lateral branch) directed dorsally, gonopore apical on posterior surface between branches of shaft.

Female genitalia. Seventh sternite 2.6 times as broad at base as long medially, posterior margin concave, more strongly so compared to that in H. distinctus and with median notch.

Measurements. Male 3.7 mm long, 1.13 mm wide across eyes. Female 3.80 mm long, 1.23 mm wide across eyes.

Material examined. INDIA: Karnataka: 1♂, Kollegal, 10.viii.1977, C. A. Viraktamath; 3 ♂, 4 ♀, Bangalore, GKVK, 20.ix.1980 (2 ♂,1♀), and 14.viii.1982 (4 ♀), ex Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk., C.A. Viraktamath; 1 ♂, Sirsi: Nilkunda, 27.ii.2007, at light, Radhamani, T.R.; 1 ♂, Bandipur, 19.i.1985, S. Viraktamath; Madhya Pradesh: 1 ♂, Nehrunagar, Durg Dist. xi.1977, Kalaichelvan ( UASB). SRI LANKA: 1 ♂, Mate Dist. Sigiriya 800 feet, black light, 13–14.xi.1976, collected by Havel, G.F., Dietze, R.E., Karunaratne, S., Balasooriya, D.W. ( USNM).

Remarks. H. dividens was described from a single male from Sri Lanka (not examined), it is recorded here for the first time from India. This species closely resembles H. pallidus Dai, Fletcher and Zhang. These two species can be readily distinguished by the shape of the aedeagal shafts, in H. dividens the shaft is not expanded laterad of gonopores and the lateral fork of aedeagus is more slender where as in H. pallidus the aedeagal shaft is laterally expanded at level of gonopores in posterior view and the lateral fork of the aedeagal shaft is stouter. This species is associated with Ziziphus mauritiana Lem. (Rhamnaceae) in south India.
