Homoneura (Homoneura) dadongshanica View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs 3 View FIGURES 1 – 12 , 92–96 View FIGURES 92 – 96 )

Diagnosis. Palpus yellow except for black tip. Wing with brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 extending to tip of vein; basal edge of brown apical spot on R2+3 with same vertical level of dm-cu, separated from apical spot on R4+5; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 behind vertical level of spot on M1; length of apical spot on M1 as long as half of ultimate section of M1; a brown elliptical or round spot on R4+5 situated at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu; brown cloud on dm-cu, constricted at middle.

Description. MALE. Body length 7.0– 8.2 mm, wing length 7.1–8.1 mm.

Head yellow. Frons yellow or brownish yellow, with a pair of pale brown medial stripes extending to vertex, as long as wide and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle brownish yellow; oc developed, nearly as long as anterior or. Face yellow. Gena about 1/6 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere about 2.0 times as long as high; arista black except for pale brown base, with longest ray as long as height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow and palpus yellow except for black tip.

Thorax yellow with sparse grayish white pruinosity. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc (1st post-sutural dc behind transverse suture), acr in irregular 10 rows, uniformly short hair-like; prsc longer than 1st post-sutural dc. Scutellum yellow. Legs yellow except for tarsomeres 3–5 brown. Fore femur with 4 strong pv and 8–9 pd, and ctenidium with 15 short setae; fore tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5–6 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical setae distinct) and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ) slightly yellow, brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 extending to tip of vein; basal edge of brown apical spot on R2+3 with same vertical level of dm-cu, separated from apical spot on R4+5; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 behind vertical level of spot on M1; length of apical spot on M1 as long as half of ultimate section of M1; an elliptical or round brown spot on R4+5 situated at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu; brown cloud on dm-cu, constricted at middle; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 4.5:1.4:1; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.7; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/8 of penultimate. Halter yellow (sometimes knob slightly brownish yellow).

Abdomen brownish yellow, with grayish white pruinosity. Male genitalia ( Figs 92–96 View FIGURES 92 – 96 ): syntergosternite circular with several dorsal setulae; epandrium broad without long dorsal setae; surstylus broad, sheet-like with short apical setulae in lateral view and curved apically in posterior view; hypandrium H-shaped; pregonite short with three long setae, postgonite long columnar; aedeagus broad with a pair of small lateral teeth, a pair of triangular dorsal processes and a deep incision in ventral view; aedeagal apodeme as long as aedeagus.

FEMALE. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype ♂ ( SYSU), CHINA, Guangdong Province: Lianzhou city, Dadongshan, 800–1000 m, 13. IX. 1993, Shengdao Chen. Paratypes: 1 ♂ ( SYSU), CHINA, Guangdong Province: Lianzhou city, Dadongshan, 800–1000 m, 12. IX. 1993, Zhoudong Yang; 1 ♂ ( SYSU), CHINA, Guangdong Province: Lianzhou city, Dadongshan, 800–1000 m, 27. VIII. 1996, Weicai Xie (hind tibia missing).

Distribution. China (Guangdong).

Remarks. The new species is similar to Homoneura (H.) bispinalis Yang, Hu & Zhu from China (Zhejiang) in the following characters: wing with brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1, extending to tip of vein; an elliptical or round brown spot on R4+5 situated at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu. But it can be separated from the latter by the palpus being yellow except for black tip, the basal edge of the brown apical spot on R2+3 having same vertical level of dm-cu. In Homoneura (H.) bispinalis , the palpus is entirely yellow and the basal edge of the brown apical spot on R2+3 situates behind vertical level of dm-cu ( Yang, Hu & Zhu, 2001).

Etymology. The new species is named after type locality Dadongshan in Guangdong Province.
