Diagnosis. Recognized by black dorsum, with numerous golden yellow lanceolate sericeous scale-like setae on the dorsum and silvery patches of lanceolate sericeous scale-like setae on the scutellum and hemelytra; antennal segment I completely pale, white.

Description. Male. Elongate, lateral corial margins concave; total length 1.98–2.10, width pronotum 1.10–1.13. COLORATION ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ): Body black with embolium and posterior region of hemelytra before cuneus reddish brown; antennal segment I pale white, segment II–IV yellowish brown; segment I of rostrum, fore, mid and hind femora reddish brown; fore and mid coxa pale, hind coxa reddish brown; metathorax and scent gland evaporatory area brown; cuneus red, membrane fuscous with veins pale. SURFACE AND VESTITURE: Dorsum with closely packed golden yellow lanceolate sericeous scale-like setae and silvery patches of lanceolate scale-like setae on the scutellum and hemelytra; pro, meso and metathorax and abdomen ventrally with clumps of silvery lanceolate setae. STRUCTURE: Head: Posterior margin weakly carinate, concave including eyes; antennae arising close to eyes on the ventral margin, eyes occupying half the head height in lateral view. Pronotum: Lateral margins weakly concave with a single erect spine-like setae anteriorly, humeral angles sharply rounded, posterior margin medially concave; calli prominent and raised; mesoscutum exposed; scutellum flat; metathorasic scent gland evaporatory area prominent. Hemelytra: Lateral margins straight, broader than abdomen; cuneus broadly triangular, with prominent incisures. Legs: Hind femur cylindrical. GENITALIA ( Fig. 27–31 View FIGURES 27 – 31 ): Pygophore: Transverse, tapering and rounded distally. Endosoma: Broad at base and apex, moderately sclerotized, J-shaped, tubular, secondary gonophore with semicircular opening subtended distally by small erect and moderately long glassy spicules. Phallotheca: Elongate curved, with a small finger-like projection on ventral margin, dorsal margin broad and rounded at apex. Left paramere: Weakly splayed out, anterior processes with a short, thumb-like, posterior processes greatly elongate and curved. Right paramere: Short, tubular, broad basally and tapering towards apex.

Female. Similar to male; total length 2.06–2.90, width pronotum 1.06–1.10.

Distribution. Know from a single locality Karnataka, GKVK, UASB.

Host. Breeds on Dendrophthoe falcata ( Figs 11, 12 View FIGURES 9 – 16 ).

Etymology. Kanarese for silver, referring to silvery white patches of setae, noun in apposition.

Discussion. Male genital characters of H. belli appear close to H. amyemi S chuh & Menard and H. amyemicola S chuh & Menard but differs from both the species by absence of medial spine on the endosoma and apex broad, left paramere without any processes on dorsal anterior margin. Externally H. belli can be distinguished from the former species by the presence of closely packed, golden yellow lanceolate sericeous scale-like setae and silvery patches of lanceolate scale-like setae on the scutellum and hemelytra.
