Syntypes (3, according to the original description): MNHN 7997 ( Ceríaco & Bour 2012:19), 7893 (= Emys cayennensis [= Podocnemis unifilis ]; Bour 2006a 33; photographed therein), and 8363 (= P. erythrocephala ; Bour 2006a:33; photographed therein); MNHN 7997 designated lectotype by Bour (2006a:35; photographed therein).
