Psammodesmus cos Cook, 1896a: 12 View in CoL : 52 (original description); Hoffman 1953b: 304 (in dichotomous key); Martínez-Torres 2016: 49 (considered as species inquirenda).

Types: Holotype from Colombia, without further locality. Initially at the ANSP, it is currently lost ( Hoffman 1953b; Martínez-Torres 2016).

Distribution: Colombia, without a precise locality.

Comments: to stabilize the use of Psammodesmus it would be advisable to designate a neotype matching Cook's brief description.
