Material examined

One male and one female: ‘ ARGENTINA: Salta Prov .,\ 10 km N Rosario de la Frontera \ Km 1436 rt . 9, 814m \ S 25º42.546 ʹ W 064º56.623 ʹ \ D. M. Takiya 20 .i .2008 sweep’ ( DZRJ). Male also with label: ‘ Scopogonalia \ altmani [sic]\ Cavichioli\ D M TAKIYA det. 2007’.

Comment

Scopogonalia altmanni had been previously recorded from Paraná state, south Brazil ( Cavichioli 1986). With the new record, the distribution of the species is expanded towards northwest Argentina, being the first record of the species out of Brazil.
