Material: Holotype ♀, Ani bridge, Medog County, Xizang province, alt. 1250m, 1979. VII.20, leg. JIN Gen-Tao, WU Jian-Yi.

Description: Body small-sized. Fastigium verticis conical, protruding forward, stout and obtuse, dorsally furrowed ( Figs. 38, 39 View FIGURES 37–42 ). Apical segment of maxillary palpi terminally expanded and as long as preceding one. Compound eyes oval, protruding. Pronotum with anterior margin flat and posterior margin rounded, triangular; metazona gently elevated; lateral lobes low, lateral angle flat in the lower edge, hind margin slightly concave ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37–42 ). Tegmina exceeding abdominal apex, apex rounded; hind wings of the same length as tegmina ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37–42 ). Fore coxa bearing a spine, fore leg missing, 5 inner and 4 outer ventral spurs on each mid tibia, each margin of hind tibiae with 19–22 dorsal spines, and 3 apical spurs armed on the terminal of each hind tibiae. Cerci short and conical. Subgenital plate transverse, elevated along the central axis, lateral margins parallel, posterior margin rounded ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 37–42 ). Ovipositor without apical hook ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 37–42 ).

Male unknown.

Coloration: Body yellowish brown, darkish brown, variegated, vertex and frons darkish brown, but rostrum yellowish brown, gena pale brown. Antenna pale brown, scape and pedicel darkish, the terminal of each segment dark. Disc of pronotum yellowish, the frontal area with 2 darkish spots, 4 darkish longitudinal stripes on metazona, lateral lobes darkish; mesopleura and metapleura largely darkish brown ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37–42 ). Legs decorated with darkish rings. Tegmina brown with darkish brown patches; dorsum of abdomen darkish.

Measurements (mm): Body ♀ 9.0; pronotum ♀ 4.0; tegmina ♀ 9.0; hind femora ♀ 11.0; ovipositor ♀ 7.0.

Diagnosis: The sole female of this species is very similar to the female of Sinoxizicus breviatus Gorochov & Kang, 2005 , but can easily be distinguished by the morphology of the subgenital plate and the markings on the pronotum.

Etymology: The specific epithet also derived from Latin ‘carina’, refers to the central keel of the female subgenital plate.
