Type host: Lanius minor Gmelin ( Passeriformes : Laniidae ). Type locality: Slovakia.

FEMALE (holotype and 5 paratypes). Total body length 1015–1050. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Hypostomal apex with pair of short, sharp-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–6 chambers, each lateral branch with 11–15 chambers. Length of apunctate stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 245– 250 and 175 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sculptured and laterally punctate, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:2:3. Setae se and c1 located at same transverse level, or setae se set slightly anteriorly to level of setae c1. Hysteronotal shields small and oval in the shape, apunctate. Pygidial shield sparsely punctate. Setae f1, f2, h1 and h2 subequal in length. Aggenital setae subequal in length and 3–4 times longer than genital setae. Coxal fields I–IV sparsely punctate. Setae 3c slightly longer (1.2–1.3 times) than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 11–15 tines. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III and IV subequal in length. Apodemes I fused to apodemes II in middle part of apodemes II. Lengths of setae: vi 100–125, ve 210–220, si 290– 345, se 360–400, c1 360–420, c2 320–360, d1 370–425, d2 330–375, e2 410–420, f2 430–470, f2 440–455, h1 400–465, h2 365–420, ps1 and ps2 40–55, g1 70–80, g2 80–125, ag1 270–315, ag2 265–330, ag3 275–305, l’RIII 60–80, l’RIV 65–75, tc’III–IV 75–90, tc”III–IV 95–105, 3b 135–160, 3c 175–195.

MALE (3 paratypes). Total body length 755–770. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex with pair of small and bluntended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 5–6 chambers, each lateral branch with 11–13 chambers. Stylophore apunctate. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield without ornamentation, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:2:4. Setae se and c1 located at same transverse level. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, deeply concave on anterior margin, apunctate. Setae d2 twice as long as d1 and e2. Setae h2 about 4–5 times longer than f2. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Legs. Fan like seta p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 8–9 tines. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III and IV subequal in length. Lengths of setae: vi 55–65, ve 110–115, si 215– 240, se 255, c1 280, c2 230, d1 40–55, d2 70–85, e2 40 –50, h2 295, f2 65–80, l’RIII 60, l’RIV 55, tc’III–IV 55–70, tc”III–IV 70.

Type material examined. Lanius minor Gmelin ( Passeriformes : Laniidae ): female holotype and paratypes: 6 females, 3 males, 15 nymphs ( AMU –SYR.10A) (sec.); SLOVAKIA, Kurov , 6 June 1960, coll. T. Weisz.

Type material deposition. Holotype deposited in the AMU, paratypes in the AMU, SMB and ZISP.

Non-type material examined. Type host species: 5 females, 3 nymphs ( AMU –SYR.10B) ; ROMANIA, 1901, no other data. Material deposited in the AMU. Host specimen deposited in the MNHW .

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of secondaries of Lanius minor .

Distribution. Slovakia and Romania.
