Diagnosis female. Antennule article 2 half the length of article 1. Cheliped fixed finger with pronounced serration. Cheliped dactylus with large process. Maxilliped endites with process. Pleopods absent. Uropods shorter than pleotelson. Pleotelson acorn-shaped and long (as long as combined length of four pleonites).

Diagnosis, male. Antennule article 2 longer than half as long as article 1. Cheliped fixed finger with pronounced serration. Cheliped dactylus with large process. Pleopods present on all five pleonites, armed with simple setae. Uropods shorter than pleotelson. Pleotelson acorn-shaped and long (as long as combined length of four pleonites).

Synonymy. Leptognathia unguicillata Lang, 1968 .
