( Figs 2A–C View Figure 2 ; 3A–C View Figure 3 ; 4A–C View Figure 4 )

Toxotarca parotidosa Wu, 1994 View in CoL . Sinzoologica 11: 123. TL: Hainan Province, China.

Torodora parotidosa View in CoL ; Park, 2002: 159.

Diagnosis

Adult ( Figure 2A–C View Figure 2 ). Wingspan 16–17 mm. The species is distinguished from its relatives by the second segment of labial palpus having specialized loose scales ventrally. Male genitalia ( Figure 3A–C View Figure 3 ) with a fairly elongate cucullus dilated distally and the juxta having sclerotized triangular caudal lobes. Female genitalia ( Figure 4A–C View Figure 4 ) with eighth abdominal sternite sclerotized, deeply emarginated on caudal margin medially; anterior apophyses unusually thick, about half length of posterior apophyses; ductus bursae coiled more than three times, with numerous short, conic spines; corpus bursae elongate, with signum peanut-shaped, densely dentate.

Material examined

One ♂, Cambodia, Prov. Mondulkiri, Seima Biodiversity Conservation Area , 3–8 July 2009 (Bae and Chae), gen. slide no. CIS-6071 / Park ; 6♂, 1♀, same data as the holotype, gen. slide no. 6073 / Park, 6078 / Park, and 6081 / Park (♀) ; 1♂ , same locality, 7 October 2010 (Bae et al.) ; 1♀, same locality, 9 October 2010 (Bae et al.) .

Distribution

Cambodia (new record), Thailand, China (Hainan).

Remarks

The species was described in the monotypic genus Toxotarca Wu , which is defined by loose scales on second segment of labial palpus ventrally, but Park (2002) synonymized it as a junior synonym of Torodora Meyrick , because of similarity in the venation of wings and the male genital character. Park (2002) noted that the male genitalia of the specimens from Thailand show a slight difference from those of the type, with more deeply concave ventral margin of valva, but it is considered to be an infraspecific variation. The male genitalia of the Cambodian specimens are identical to those from Thailand. The female is known for the first time after the species was described in 1994.
