Description of Sandarakinorhabdus limnophila WW View in CoL 59
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonsporeforming, nonflagellated, and pigmented rods. Colonies are circular, smooth, droplike, and dark orange colored at 25°C on R2A agar medium after 3 days of incubation. In API 20NE, positive for gelatinase and β galactosidase but negative for nitrate reduction, urea, arginine dihydrolase, esculin, indole production and glucose fermentation. Does not utilize Dglucose, Larabinose, Dmannose, N acetylglucosamine, Dmaltose, DMannitol, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, capric acid, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain WW59 (= NIBR BA0000115025) has been isolated from fresh water, Changnyeong, Korea.
