Nepheloploce Razowski View in CoL , gen. n. ( Figs 35, 79)
Type-species: Argyroploce nephelopyrga Meyrick, 1938 . Institut des Parcs Nationaux du Congo belge 14: 10.
Diagnosis. Nepheloploce is similar to Metendothenia Diakonoff, 1973 (i.e., they share a similar structure of the subdorsal process of the valva), but the new genus has symmetric valvae, atrophied socii, and saccular tuft of bristles. The posterior part of the valva resembles that of Sorolopha Lower, 1901 in which there is a tendency to develop a large ventrobasal lobe of cucullus.
Etymology. The generic epithet is a combination of two Greek words:‘Nephele’ (Nεφέλη), meaning cloud, and ‘Ploke’ (∏λοκή), meaning texture, or the way things are put together. Gender feminine.
Description. Male genitalia ( Fig. 79). Pedunculi long; uncus short, expanded terminad, concave apically, thorny terminally; socius absent; strong subdorsal process of posterior edge of basal cavity; tuft of dense bristles near middle of ventral incision of valva; cucullus with strong ventral, spined lobe; aedeagus long.
Female. Unknown.
Biology. Unknown.
Distribution. A monobasic genus known only from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
