Female genitalia ( Fig. 109). Papilla analis proportionally large with slender proximal part, broad in median portion; apophyses rather long; sterigma rounded proximally with oval lateral parts; antrum not sclerotized; ductus bursae rather short; ductus seminalis from before middle of the latter; corpus bursae piriform; signum minute.

Remarks. Described from 2 female specimens. The female paralectotype is in BMNH (K. Tuck, pers. comm.). The lectotype was selected by Aarvik in 1998 but was not published until the present paper. S. regionalis is closely related to Sycacantha penthrana ( Bradley, 1965) (Epinotia) , comb. nov., described from Ruwenzori Mts., and the two belong to a complex containing several species in the highlands of East Africa.
