Remarks.
Introduced for Melania costata sensu Lamarck, 1822, non Olivier, 1804. Junior homonym of Melanopsis subcostata d’Orbigny, 1850. Pallary (1920b: 110-111) synonymized the species with Melania costata (Olivier, 1804).
