ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 208.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Agro Parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, syntypes (one with thorax partially eaten by dermestids, missing left fore-leg, the other covered with mold, missing abdomen) ( MZUF: Box 12): Spylosia Rnd. Meigenia D. / clausina Rnd. / 574.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Meigenia mutabilis (Fallén, 1810) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 146) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 208) described Meigenia clausina from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. We found two syntypes in this study.
