ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1870c: 122 (key), 128 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hill ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (specimen damaged by the pin), 1 ♀, syntype (dirty, specimen damaged by the pin) ( MZUF: Box 31): Oxyna Desv. / cribrina Rnd. , Parma / 1641 / 1641 Oxyna nebulosa (Wied.) , det. I.M. White, 1986 [this label is pinned near the specimen].

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Oxyna nebulosa (Wiedemann, 1817) ( Foote 1984: 109, Norrbom et al. 1999: 179).

REMARKS: Rondani (1870c: 128) described both sexes of Oxyna cribrina without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Uterque sexus a me semel inventus [Once both sexes found by me]”. We found two syntypes in this study.
