TYPE LOCALITY: “ Venezuela ” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MRSN: Box 1755): Exorista Mgn rufilatera Rndn. , Venezuela, Genè / Museo di Zoologia della Università Torino, Italia / Exorista rufilatera Rond., 1850: 171 , Venezuela.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Winthemia rufilatera ( Guimarães 1971: 197, O’Hara et al. 2020: 535).
REMARKS: Rondani (1850c: 171) described Exorista rufilatera from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material received from E. Truqui. We found one syntype in this study.
