Sepsidae View in CoL View at ENA
This worldwide family of acalyptrate flies contains 360 species ( Evenhuis & Pape 2020). In his “ Stirps Tanipezinae ”, rather than in the family Sepsidae proposed by Walker (1833), Rondani (1874d) described four Palaearctic nominal species, all currently considered as junior synonyms (Zuska & Pont 1984, Pont & Meier 2002). In his paper on the Rondani types at MZUB, Morge (1959b) listed one unpublished name (nomen nudum) of Rondani. Except for one additional syntype in the OUMNH, the type material has been recovered for all nominal species and is in the MZUF.
