Sciomyzidae View in CoL View at ENA
This family of acalyptrate flies contains 622 species ( Evenhuis & Pape 2020), particularly common in temperate regions ( Marshall 2012). Rondani (1863, 1868b, 1868 c, 1877b) described 12 nominal species, all but one of them Palaearctic: eight are currently considered as valid and four as junior synonyms ( Knutson et al. 1976, Rivosecchi 1982, Rozkošný & Elberg 1984, Rozkošný 1985, Rivosecchi 1992 a, Munari & Rivosecchi 1995). Here, we designate a lectotype for Elgiva lateritia Rondani, 1868 , Tetanocera nigricosta Rondani, 1868 , Tetanocera punctifrons Rondani, 1868 . In his paper on the Rondani types at MZUB, Morge (1959b) listed one unpublished manuscript name (nomen nudum) of Rondani. Except for eight paralectotypes of one species in the MRSN, the type material has been recovered for all nominal species and is in the MZUF.
