REMARKS: misidentification. Rondani ( 1861g: 381) incorrectly identified a specimen of a new species as Sarcophaga arvorum Meigen, 1826 ( Böttcher 1913: 184, Pape 1988: 17). Rohdendorf (1937: 361) proposed the new nominal species name Pierretia rondaniana for Sarcophaga arvorum sensu Rondani.
