ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868a: 52.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hill ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.

CURRENT STATUS: junior primary homonym of Musca minima Harris, 1780 ; junior synonym of Musca tempestiva Fallén, 1817 ( Pont 1986b: 93, Thompson & Pont 1994: 97, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 11).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 52) described Musca minima from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Foem. … Semel lecta [Female … Once collected]”. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
