TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Sardinia [Sardinia ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype (glued to a cardboard stage, missing head) ( MZUF: Box 36): Psila Mgn / sardoa Rnd. , ♂ / 1891 / Lectotypus Psila sardoa Rond. , ♂, design. Á. Soós, 1978 .

PARALECTOTYPE EXAMINED: 1 ♂ ( MZUF: Box 36): Psila Mgn / sardoa Rnd. , ♂ / 1891 / Paralectotypus Psila sardoa Rond. , ♂, design. Á. Soós, 1978.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Chamaepsila sardoa ( Soós 1984a: 32, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 4).

REMARKS: Rondani (1876d: 192) described Psila sardoa without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens: “ Exemplaria non nulla possideo [I have some specimens]”. Soós (1982b: 155) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotype (♂).
