CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Myopa morio Meigen, 1804 View in CoL ( Chvála & Smith 1988: 263, Rivosecchi & Scaramozzino 1995: 3, Stuke 2017: 159).

REMARKS: Rondani (1857: 245) described Myopa puella , without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being six specimens in the type series found in this study. We consider these as syntypes. Stuke (2017: 159) incorrectly reported the syntype series of five specimens in the MZUF as being comprised of four males and one female.
