ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 188 (key), 189 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ agri parmensis [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype ( MZUF: Box 24): Mycomyia Rndn. / boletorum Rnd. , ♀, Parma / 1270 / Platycoenosia boletorum Rondani , Holotypus / Hennig det.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Piezura boletorum View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 43, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 9); junior synonym of Piezura graminicola (Zetterstedt, 1846) (Pont 2002: 107) View in CoL .
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 189) described Mycophaga boletorum from just the female sex without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Foeminam tantum legi [I collected only the female]”. Willi Hennig labeled as “ Holotypus ” the specimen in the MZUF but he did not mention it in his publication about types in Rondani collections ( Hennig, 1961). The species is now ascribed to the genus Piezura Rondani, 1866 in the family Fanniidae ( Pont 1986a: 43) and no longer to the genus Mycophaga Rondani, 1856 , a valid genus in the family Anthomyiidae ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 72) .
