Anthomyiidae View in CoL View at ENA
This family of calyptrate flies contains 1,917 species ( Evenhuis & Pape 2020), all Holarctic except for a few tropical species ( Marshall 2012). Rondani (1856, 1863, 1866a, 1868b, 1871a, 1877c) described 42 Palaearctic and two Neotropical nominal species, 16 considered as valid, 22 as junior synonyms and six as doubtful or are not included in any recent catalog ( Pont 1974, Dely-Draskovits 1993, Gorodkov et al. 1995). Rondani (1866a) proposed one name in synonymy and was not made available by use as a valid species before 1961. In his paper on the Rondani types at MZUB, Morge (1959b) listed six unpublished names (nomina nuda ) of Rondani. Hennig (1966, 1967a, 1967b, 1967c, 1970a, 1970 b, 1972, 1973a, 1973b, 1974a, 1974b, 1974c), Michelsen (1980 a, 1980b), F. Venturi and Á. Dely-Draskovits examined the MZUF type material, the latter two without publishing any results. Hennig (1967b) designated a lectotype for Chorthophila histricina Rondani, 1866 ; Michelsen (1980 a, 1980b) designated a lectotype for Anthomyia imbrida Rondani, 1866 , Anthomyia procellaris Rondani, 1866 , Chorthophila chenopodii Rondani, 1866 . Here, we designate a lectotype for Chortophila divergens Rondani, 1866 , Chorthophila impudica Rondani, 1866 , Chortophila incognita Rondani, 1866 . Except for Chortophila palpella and Chortophila pudica , the type material has been recovered for all nominal species and is distributed among the MZUF (40), MSNC (five), OUMNH (four), MSNPV (two), MRSN (one), MZLU (one), MZUB (one), and MZUN (one).
