Identification. Gametophytes flabellate; leaves long, lan- ceolate with entire limbidium confluent with apex; pen- tagonal or hexagonal cells smooth, with sinuous walls. This species is similar to Fissidens palmatus Hedw. but smaller (generally 2–4 mm high) and having cells with straight walls and the limbidium not confluent with the apex. Briocenological group: saxicolous.
