Identification. Leaves caducous, elimbate, oblong-ligulate, with apex obtuse. This species is similar to Fissidens asplenioides Hedw. in the shape of the leaves and cells, but it possesses generally larger gametophytes and longer leaves. Briocenological group: saxicolous.
Brazilian range. BA, DF, ES, PA, MA, MG, PB, SE, SP (moderate distribution).
