Notes
Reported from Greece by Faulwetter et al. (2011a) and Keklikoglou et al. (2013). Widely distributed in the Mediterranean ( Musco and Giangrande 2005). Licher (1999) considers Syllis compacta a synonym of Syllis variegata Grube, 1860, San Martín (2003) lists it as a valid species. Specimens from Greece were identified using the description and key by San Martín (2003).
