Remarks.
Originally introduced as infrasubspecific taxon ( “subvariety”) by Nevill (1884), but made available by Paetel (1888) who treated it as variety (Art. 45.5.1). Paetel clearly referred to the description of Nevill. Junior homonym of Melanopsis decollata Stoliczka, 1862.
