Lectotype ( Röser in Taxon 44: 397. 1995): Herb. Linn. No. 44.5 ( S) .

Current name: Helictotrichon pratense (L.) Besser View in CoL ( Poaceae ).

Note: Holub (in Acta Mus. Nat. Pragae 17B(5): 215. 1961) discussed this name, and its original material, in some detail but did not indicate a type. Gervais (in Denkschr. Schweiz. Naturf. Ges. 88: 95. 1973) proposed a neotype for this name but this is contrary to Art. 9.11 because original material is in existence. Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 30. 1975) correctly argued that 95.19 (LINN) was not original material, but Romero Zarco (in Lagascalia 13: 83. 1984) incorrectly designated the left-hand specimen on 95.17 (LINN), which is also not original material, as lectotype. Röser’s typification is therefore accepted here.
