Coelotrypes paralatilimbatus sp. n.

Body length: 6.46‒6.8 mm; wing length, 4.2¯ 4.60 mm.
Diagnosis: Medium sized (6.46̄ 6.8 mm), predominantly black species. Scutum black with a medial yellow vitta from transverse suture to scutellum (broadened posteriorly). Wing predominantly hyaline with broad, diffuse, longitudinal bands across veins M and Cu, prominent subapical band. Abdomen entirely black.
Description: Frons fulvous with a medial black band, three frontal setae, single orbital seta, ocellar triangle black without seta, postocellar, lateral vertical and medial vertical seta present, occiput with an inverted U-shaped white patch, postocular setae thin and black. Face deeply concave, fulvous with quadrate black spot; scape, pedicel and first flagellomere fulvous, arista plumose. Occiput fulvous medially and dark fuscous to black laterally. Scutum predominantly black with medial yellow postsutural vitta extending from anterior margin of scutum to scutellum, lateral postsutural yellow vitta extending from transverse suture to scutellum. Pleura fulvous with a longitudinal white anepisternal stripe extending from postpronotal lobe to wing base, anatergite and katatergite black. Chaetotaxy, 2 scapular setae, 1 postpronotal lobe seta, 1 anterior notopleural seta, 1 posterior notopleural seta, 1 postsutural supraalar seta, 1 post-alar seta, 1 intra-alar seta, 1 prescutellar acrostichal seta, 2 anepisternal setae; 1 anepimeral seta; 1 katepisternal seta. Scutellum yellow with two scutellar setae, subscutellum and mediotergite black. Legs, fulvous; all femora fulvous, forefemur with stout dorsal and ventral spines; midtibia with stout apical spine. Wing predominantly hyaline with dark brown, longitudinal bands along veins M and Cu connected by subapical band, apex of vein R 4+5 with slight infuscation. Vein R 1 setose, R 2+3, R 4+5 bare. Abdomen wholly black.
Genitalia: Oviscape fuscous (2.07 mm), taeniae short, eversible membrane (1.5 mm) with small, rounded spicules at distal end, aculeus (1.08 mm) tip trilobed and 4 lateral serrations present. Spermatheca convex lens shaped.
Host plant: Ipomoea purpurea (L.) Roth ( Convolvulaceae )
Etymology: The specific name is derived from its resemblance to and previous confusion with C. latilimbatus .
