Dechacona missionum (Berg 1879) View in CoL

Diagnosis. General coloration brownish-gray, disc of crown with tranverse fovea between ocelli and tranverse elevation bordering posterior margin; crown, pronotum, scutellum and forewings with pubescence. Male: subgenital plates separate throughout their length, each plate with internal basal process; aedeagus short, with pair of processes arising at base, each process finely hairy in apical half.

Female terminalia. Abdominal sternite VII, in ventral view ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 20 ), with lateral margins slightly convergent posteriorly, lateroposterior margins broadly rounded, and posterior margin deeply emarginate medially; surface with numerous scattered microsetae. Pygofer, in lateral view, slightly produced posteriorly; surface with scattered microsetae, mainly concentrated along ventral region and posterior two-thirds of disc. First valvifers, in lateral view, longer than tall; with small spiniform processes and a few setae on ventral region. First ovipositor valvulae, in lateral view, slightly rectilinear beyond basal curvature; dorsal sculptured area formed by scale-like processes arranged in oblique lines; ventral sculptured area formed by scale-like processes arranged irregularly; apex acute ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21 – 40 ) with denticles on dorsal and ventral margins. Second valvulae, in lateral view, slightly broadened beyond basal curvature; dorsal margin of blade bearing 21 to 23 continuous teeth, each tooth subrectangular, with denticles on anterior and dorsal margins ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 41 – 60 ); ducts extending toward teeth and toward apical blade portion; apex rounded ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 61 – 80 ) with denticles on dorsal and ventral margins; preapical ventral prominence conspicuous.
