Austin (2000) separates the material that Evans (1953) treated as M. jason into several species, some new. I have not examined the female specimen of M. jason which Evans lists from Trinidad in the NHM, but a male that I caught at Inniss Field (16 Jan 2004) appears to be M. cristata , and for the moment I anticipate this is the only species of this group from Trinidad.
